I have not posted for the entire month of October. In my last September post, I noted how my days seemed booked solid since classes started back at the college where I teach. That feeling has been overwhelming for me. For anyone of you out there who have invisible chronic illnesses, you are probably well aware of how this happens. You feel well enough, you get involved in lots of fun things, and then wammo-bammo you find yourself just plain out of energy. This newsletter (and some long overdue grading!) got relegated to the “too tired to care” folder. I also have been fighting with my asthma and breathing in general this fall. I’m off to see a pulmonologist to figure out what’s going on with my lungs.
I had planned to make changes to the newsletter after the first of the year, but I’ll be putting the first change in place in December: going to a bi-monthly format that is more ‘zine than blog/newsletter. I’ll still post occasional graphics, but other updates about art and sewing will be on my website: amyjogarner.com.
Until then, I’ll be resting and guarding my energy so I can pursue all the things that bring me joy.
