Breaking News!
I got my first COVID vaccine today. Who would have thought anyone would be excited to get a shot? I want to give a shout out to IMMY Labs for being so efficient and friendly at their mass vaccination event. I was in and out in under 30 minutes.
Tip Sheet Tuesday
This week you can download an updated version of my Common Collage & Mixed Media Materials Tip Sheet. Click Here to get your free copy on my online store. To battle the snow and cold and my lingering unmotivated funk, I finished my collage on canvas class project. The final title of the work is “My West Virginia Roots.” I like the way it turned out. If you want to see how it came together, Click The Image Below to watch the video on YouTube. The video also reveals what appears to be the genetic roots of my crazy hair!
I’m a Vlogger Now
At the end of January, I discovered I had 145 subscribers on YouTube. I don’t know how those people found me. However, it occurred to me that if I could get that many subscribers by doing nothing other than uploading a few videos over the years, maybe I could really build a channel if I put some effort into it. I’ve been experimenting with YouTube’s new #shorts video format. Those have given me a good idea of what styles of videos people like. I have also experimented with longer types of videos. Plus, I have watched way too many hours of video studying what other people are doing. The channels I like most are commonly tagged as studio vlogs or artist vlogs. The video mentioned above will be the first of my artist vlogs. I’ll be posting once a week on Monday nights. As my videography evolves, my goals are to
provide a glimpse into the art-making process,
film tutorials and tips on making your own art, and
build a community of creative people.
I hope you will subscribe and share with your friends!
The sun has returned, and the snow is swiftly melting away. Hopefully, my motivation will continue to build. I have art to make and garments to sew!
Thank you! Love it!
